Lil Wayne Sentencing Delayed
Lil Wayne apparently won't be going in just yet. According to the rapper's attorney, Weezy's sentencing has been delayed until March 2 due to dental surgery.
As previously reported, Wayne was scheduled to be formally sentenced on February 9th, and begin serving his one-year prison term in Riker's Island. He reached a plea deal with Manhattan, NY prosecutors on gun charges stemming from a 2007 arrest.
Word is Wayne, accompanied by Cash Money executives Birdman and Slim Williams, reported to court at roughly 2 p.m. Stacey Richman, Wayne's attorney, told the judge she sent a note to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office explaining that Wayne has a cracked tooth and will need to delay his sentence.
Per Richman, Wayne is scheduled to undergo surgery February 12 in Miami and will need between a week to 10 days to recover. According to MTV, Wayne's team offered that he turn himself in on February 25, but judge Charles H. Solomon picked March 2 as the new sentencing date.
"I don't want this to be pushed back anymore," Solomon "This is the last adjournment."
