Sade Projected to Sell Over 400k in First Week

Sade is set to top the charts again with her latest album.

The singer’s first album in a decade, "Soldier Of Love," is poised to debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200, nearly reaching gold status. According to Hits Daily Double, the album is expected to sell between 400,000 and 425,000 copies in its first seven days.

"Soldier Of Love" has gained critical praise from her musical contemporaries, with Kanye West, Raekwon and Busta Rhymes each showing their respect for Sade.

On his personal blog Kanye gushed, “This is why I still have a blog… to be a part of moments like this… new Sade… How much better this than everything else?” Busta took to Twitter, exclaiming, “Sade is unbelievably incredible.”

Meanwhile, the Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon dedicated a song to the renowned singer.

“This is dedicated to my peoples, Sade,” Raekwon starts. “Yo I love you baby. Dedicated to you, let's go. Over time, I've building my castle of love/Just for two, though you never knew you were my reason, I've gone much too far for you now to say, That I've got to throw my castle away/Over dreams, I have picked out a perfect come true/Though you never knew it was of you I've been dreaming/The sandman has come from too far away/For you to say come back some other day,” he croons.

Sade’s "Soldier Of Love" is in stores now.

Dr. Dre Files Lawsuit Against Death Row Records

Dr. Dre wants his money. The former Death Row co-owner is filing a lawsuit against his old company, which is currently owned by WIDEawake Entertainment Group, after not seeing a penny from the label for the release of several projects he created during his tenure with the imprint.

Though he parted ways with Death Row back in 1996, Dre has been carefully observing the profits being made from the digital sales of his 92 solo debut, “The Chronic” and the 2009 release, “The Chronic: Re-Lit” which featured a DVD and unreleased material from Dr. Dre.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Dre is suing WIDEawake/Death Row Records for $75,000. Representatives from the company have yet to comment on the matter.

Birdman Calls Out R. Kelly

Cash Money Records co-founder Brian “Baby” Williams recently spoke on R&B singer R. Kelly, claiming that he took a financial loss working with him.

Speaking to Ozone Magazine, Birdman spoke on his desire to sign a country music act to the label, when his attention suddenly diverted towards R. Kelly.

“Country is where the other money at,” Baby said in the interview. “I just ain't found me a Country act yet, but as soon as I do, it's on. We've already had some Country records; my son [Lil Wayne] rapped with Kid Rock… and it blew up, so I'm just waiting to find the right Country act to sign so my son can do a song with him and blow him up... Probably the worst investment I did was [dealing] with R. Kelly. That was a waste of my time. I could've made money if I wasn't [dealing] with [him].”

Baby had previously collaborated with Kelly as a member of the Big Tymers with then-Cash Money artist Mannie Fresh on the song “Gangsta Girl,” from their 2003 album "Big Money Heavyweight." In 2003, Williams and Kelly were to begin work on the sequel to "The Best Of Both Worlds," originally a Jay-Z and R. Kelly album. The project was in response to Jay distancing himself from Kells shorly after his child pornography scandal. The two would reunite, however, in 2004’s "Unfinished Business" album.

Lil Wayne Sentencing Delayed

Lil Wayne apparently won't be going in just yet. According to the rapper's attorney, Weezy's sentencing has been delayed until March 2 due to dental surgery.

As previously reported, Wayne was scheduled to be formally sentenced on February 9th, and begin serving his one-year prison term in Riker's Island. He reached a plea deal with Manhattan, NY prosecutors on gun charges stemming from a 2007 arrest.

Word is Wayne, accompanied by Cash Money executives Birdman and Slim Williams, reported to court at roughly 2 p.m. Stacey Richman, Wayne's attorney, told the judge she sent a note to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office explaining that Wayne has a cracked tooth and will need to delay his sentence.

Per Richman, Wayne is scheduled to undergo surgery February 12 in Miami and will need between a week to 10 days to recover. According to MTV, Wayne's team offered that he turn himself in on February 25, but judge Charles H. Solomon picked March 2 as the new sentencing date.

"I don't want this to be pushed back anymore," Solomon "This is the last adjournment."

Eve Named In Foreign Corruption Investigation

Rapper/actress Eve has reportedly been named in an ongoing investigation involving foreign corruption.

The first lady of the Ruff Ryders crew is being linked to an alleged relationship that she had with millionaire Teodorin Nguema Obiang. Obiang, son of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, has been accused of illegally transferring millions of dollars into his American banking account. Investigators believe that most, if not all, of the millions in cash came from corruption related to the massive oil and gas reserves off the coast of the tiny West African country.

ABC News is reporting that Obiang used middle men – lawyers, escrow and real estate agents, and in one case, his then-girl friend – to allegedly set up shell companies in the U.S. Through those, investigators say, Obiang wired in funds that enabled him to buy luxury cars, a $30 million Malibu estate and place a down payment on a Gulfstream jet.

It is unclear if the money may have also helped Obiang finance his elaborate efforts to woo Eve, which included setting up a record label and reportedly paying $700,000 to rent Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen's 300-foot yacht Tatoosh for a romantic Christmas cruise around St. Bart’s.

Eve has gone on social networking site Twitter to express her innocence.

“None of that is true,” Eve wrote. “Please don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. It’s negative and I don’t [mess] with negativity. People are trying to test me.”

Beyonce Explains "I Love You" Jay-Z Shoutout

If Jay-Z and Beyonce had any intention on hiding their marriage, the secret is out now. During an acceptance speech for one of her six Grammy wins, a usually tight-lipped Beyonce slipped up and belted out, "I'd like to thank my family for all their support, including my husband. I love you."

The unexpected public display of affection shocked millions of viewers, including Jay himself, who smiled awkwardly as he rose his hands in confusion.

“It was because I was so happy,” Beyonce explained to Access Hollywood. “I looked up and he was the first face I saw and I was like ‘What did I just do.' No I didn’t just say that’ He was shocked.”

Though he may have appeared a bit irritated on camera, Hov didn't mind Bey's slip up. Rather than address it, he reportedly told her, “You have six Grammys and you smell good.”

Cased closed. After two years of investigating, NYPD authorities have named Syed Rahman as the killer in the 2008 murder at NYC nightspot, Spotlight during Lil Kim’s birthday celebration.

Rahman, who was employed at the popular karaoke establishment, confessed to luring 24-year old Ingrid Rivera to a rooftop utility room and viciously beating her to death with a metal pipe and cutting her throat after she refused his sexual advances.

Rahman faces a sentence of 20 years to life. The confession derived from Rahman wanting to spare the woman’s family a drawn out trial.
