Ja Rule Facing Three Years In Prison

Ja Rule may have to pay a debt to society before making his return to music. On January 20, Rule was denied a dismissal for a gun possession charge stemming from an incident in March of 2007.

Ja Rule (born Jeffrey Atkins) was pulled over after a concert performance in NYC and authorities searched his Maybach and found an unregistered .40 caliber pistol and a small amount of marijuana.

Though the judge agreed to a dismissal for the marijuana because of Ja’s admission to owning the substance, Atkins is still due back in court to face the gun possession charge. If found guilty, he'll serve a minimum 3 and ½-year prison term.

Ja Rule is due back in court on March 3.
